The 6th Paulson Sustainability Award Delegation Visited Kingfa for Final Judgement

On September 18th, the Paulson Institute delegation paid a visit to Kingfa, one of the three final nominees of the 6th Paulson Sustainability Award. The delegation members included Lynn Scarlett, Vice President of The Nature Conservancy, Dave Schacht, Consultant and former Vice President of the National Geographic Society, Carol Brown, Executive Director of the Harris Policy Practice Program at the Harris School of Public Policy, the University of Chicago, Chinese and foreign judges, and some Institute staff.

In the morning, Yuan Zhimin, Chairman of Kingfa, Yang Honglian, Deputy Director of the Science and Technology Bureau of Guangzhou Development Zone, Dai Fuqian, General Manager of Kingfa’s South China Branch, Ning Hongtao, Deputy General Manager of Kingfa and General Manager of Guangdong Kingfa, and other company leaders gave warm reception. Chairman Yuan expressed his welcome to the 6th Paulson Sustainability Award delegation, and said that Kingfa will continue to strengthen the sustainable development of polymer materials and strive to become a global leader in this field. The delegation listened to Kingfa’s introduction and project report of the “Harmless Recycling and Resource Utilization Project of Waste Plastic Products”, and visited the Kingfa Exhibition Hall and laboratory. In the afternoon, the delegation arrived at Guangdong Kingfa. Hu Zhijun, Director of Guangqing Industry Park Management Committee, and Li Nanjing, General Manager of Kingfa, accompanied the delegation to inspect “Harmless Recycling and Resource Utilization Project of Waste Plastic Products”, and exchanged opinions with the delegation.

During the visit, Guangzhou Mayor Wen Guohui and Qingyuan Mayor Huang Xizhong met respectively with the 6th Paulson Sustainability Award delegation and project representatives of Kingfa.


The Paulson Sustainability Award was initiated by the Paulson Institute in 2013 and co-sponsored by Chinese partners. The award is presented annually to recognize and reward innovative, reproducible, economically and environmentally-efficient market solutions promoted in China to help with climate change, energy transformation and economic growth. Since 2013, the Paulson Award has focused on urban environments, circular economy, and natural capital, recognizing a series of innovative projects ranging from new recycling models, energy efficiency improvement solutions to air and water purification practices. This award set sustainable models for China and even the global society. Kingfa's “Harmless Recycling and Resource Utilization Project for Waste Plastic Products” is honored to be selected as one of the final nominees of the 6th Paulson Sustainability Award, and will work together with Paulson to develop projects with significant environmental benefits.
